FUNDWISE GROUP PENSION & GROUP PROVIDENT FUND

Good governance of the Fundwise Group Pension and Provident Fund Umbrella funds is paramount and consequently a Board of Trustees consisting of five independent Trustees and one sponsor Trustee has been appointed. This is to ensure a high level of transparency and independence.

RICHARD PARSONS – Independent Trustee and Chairman

• Chairman and Independent Trustee of the Fundwise Group Pension and Provident Funds;
• Many Years experience in retirement funding and employee benefits from employer perspective;
• Life member of Durban Chamber of Commerce & Industry.

BRUCE CRUICKSHANKS – Sponsor Trustee

• Director and Shareholder of Jeremy Gallet & Associates (Pty) Ltd;
• Qualifications: CFP - Fund Constitution and Fund Financing;
• 30 Years experience in Retirement Fund Industry and related Financial
Planning services.

 

TREVOR DOUGLAS – Independent Participating Employer Trustee

• Participating Employer Trustee: Durban Chamber Secretariat;
• Qualifications: CTA (University of Natal, Durban);
• 10 Years experience in Retirement Funding Industry;
• Currently Manager: Finance & Administration - Durban Chamber of Commerce
Industry.

 

CARMEN HOLLOWAY– Independent Trustee

• Qualifications: BSoc Sci (Univ. Natal, Pietermaritzburg); LLB (cum laude) (Univ.
Witwatersrand);
• Specializations and interests: Carmen has a background in commercial law and the field of retirement funding and employee benefits. Has had extensive
experience in all areas of fund management and administration, duties of the board of management and related areas. She is principal officer of two retirement funds and has been appointed by the FSB to Section 15K tribunals as well as to act as an independent trustee of a large industrial fund. She holds a diploma in pension law from the University of the Witwatersrand. She is a member of the Pension Lawyers Association. She is currently employed in the Pension and Employee Benefits Department of Shepstone & Wylie Attorneys.

 

BRYAN NELSON – Independent Participating Employer Trustee

• Participating Employer Trustee: Kwaden Investments (Pty) Ltd;
• Qualifications: B.Comm., PG Dip Acc, CA(SA);
• 15 Years experience in retirement funding and employee benefits from employer perspective;
• Currently acts as Financial Director to IT Dynamics (Pty) Ltd, non-executive Director for SGX Logistics (Pty) Ltd and Group Financial Advisor to Kwaden Investments (Pty) Ltd;
• Chairman of Kwaden Investments Provident Fund Forum.

 

COLIN VERMAAK – Independent Trustee

• Qualifications: BA Industrial Psychology, Post Graduate Industrial Relations Diploma;
• Colin’s experience in retirement funding stretches back to the early 1990’s whilst working as a Human Resource Manager in the motor component manufacturing industry;
• Colin fulfilled the role of Employer Trustee for the union negotiated retirement fund and was responsible for the day to day administration and liaison between Employer and Retirement Fund Administrator of both union negotiated and salaried staff funds;
• Colin has served as an Independent Trustee for the past 6 years.

 

LESLIE FULLARTON – Independent Principal Officer to the Fundwise Group Pension & Provident Funds

• Qualifications: B. Soc Sci., ACIS., CFP., Cert IAPM.
• 20 years experience in retirement funding and employee benefits.
• Principal Officer and trustee of various sugar industry funds.

 

 

The Trustees are responsible for the day-to-day management of the Fund, and are obliged to always act in the best interests of the Fund members and not Fundwise Management Services (Pty) Ltd. Of the six Trustees governing the business of the Fund, five of them are independent i.e. not employees of the Funds’ sponsor. Leslie Fullarton is the Funds’ Principal Officer. The Principal Officer is employed by the Funds and is therefore also fully independent.
